Modifying the PTT should alleviate this issue.Īs for channels, you can't transmit if you're not on the same 'sub channel', you need to match the CTCSS on the 152s with the 'sub channel' on the PMRs. You'd have to swap the speaker and mic contacts/cables and add an amplifier. Technically, the PTTs should be/are moddable to work, but the internals are all covered in some sort of black glue/caulk for water "resistance" (pretty sure mine would short out just the same) so working on them is a b!tch and I don't have the skill to do it. The PTTs P-X airsoft sells as TRI for real headsets do in fact work, in my experience (until it randomly died). I haven't found an E-switch that's certifiably described as working with real headsets. I have one, and it doesn't work for me either, and the guys at Natobase didn't respond as to whether the one they sell is for RS or repro, and I don't trust their mangled Chinglish description. If you got a TEA E-switch, it's probably a replica version. Hmm, TRI makes/mods PTTs in two flavors, one for Real headsets, the other for replicas. point of note i prefer the TTS over the Sordins as it delivers the same noise cancelling as the sordins but is low profile. Will modifying the PTT alleveiate this issue? Can i run another RS headset such as the Bowman PRR one and the Racal TTS.

I dont want to sell these on as its an important part of my set up and the TRI radio is really good (from my point of view). i dont have it to hand but i think its a sealed unit? The TEA PTT from TRI says that once connected i can use my RS Sordins, this doesnt seem to be the case at all.Ĭan the PTT be modified as per a few pages back. Now, i dont want to alter my Sordins as i use them for work. My mate had a 148 and was able to Tx / Rx with no problems using a D shape ear piece and CT5 PTT. I have RS Sordins, connected to a TRI TEA PTT connected to the PRC 152 and yes, nothing at all on Tx or Rx. This could be the way we set them up? the freq step was set to 6.25k (i think) which was direct from the manual.Ģ.

Bothe 152 where programmed the same way with the same settings but nothing to PMRs. I could Tx & Rx with another 152 which was fine but needed to talk to the whole team. Same for the remainder of the PMRs we were using. i could Tx and something was happening (on my PMR -Motorola talkabout) but no sound. i keyed in the channals to work with other PMRs using main chanal 4 sub chanal 44. I have myself a TRI PRC 152 - i attempted to use this the other weekend with no success, i therefore have 2 areas of questions (i have just read through the 15 pages and kindof understand the process)ġ.
